Follow her story and learn about coin values. This book can be used to help children learn about coin values at a more concrete level. It may be used to accommodate for their specific needs and learning styles. Teachers, tutors and parents will find the proportional coin kit, which is provided at the end of the book, very helpful in helping kids learn about coin values and problem solving. The proportional coin kit can be used with this book and other coin activities, with or without regular coins. You can make a copy of this page (in color if possible) and cut the proportional coins. Students' drawings may be used to support the use of the proportional coins at the representational level. Mathematical sentences or equations are provided in most pages to help the connections with the abstract level. The book can be used at different levels depending on students' backgrounds, strengths and needs. |
